Cotisso Rope

Year: 2017
Client: Philipp Plein
Where: Corso Venezia, 7, Milan, IT

Philipp Plein’s Mega Mansion is a boutique entirely dedicated to luxury menswear and lifestyle.

Its design, aiming for an avant-garde luxury shape, was asking for something both raw and precious. It looks like a frozen waterfall, one of the most spectacular living sculptures one can find in nature.

When a large amount of Murano glass is taken from the furnace and thrown into ice-cold water, it freezes and cracks, shattering in tens of smaller pieces, called ‘cotissi’.

This magnificent chandelier is composed by thousands of raw crystal rocks, cotissi, falling from the third floor all the way down to the foyer.
